This CPD session will introduce a free teaching pack (aimed at upper primary) written by teachers, using Dundee’s past as a context for exploring issues of social justice around the world today.
The pack encourages children to consider the living and working conditions of people in Dundee at the height of the jute trade, and to compare and contrast them with those in India & Bangladesh, where jute is still grown.
We will also reflect on the impact on children's attitudes and values.
